"SELFLESS EFFORTS HAVE ALWAYS FILLED MY EYES WITH TEARS"

In her acceptance speech, Karayel thanked the film crew and the actors she worked with, and said that the effort put in during the shooting process deeply affected her.

The successful actress said: “I thank my dear co-stars. To our entire film crew, looking at all of them at the top of the snowy mountain at the crack of dawn every morning, these truly selfless efforts have always filled my eyes with tears and moved me. I thank all film workers very much for this.

My character had set out on a somewhat painful journey in the name of freedom, in a sense. That is why I am receiving this award in the name of freedom, for the freedom of all of us, for those who are currently unjustly imprisoned.”

SHE DEDICATED HER AWARD TO THOSE UNJUSTLY HELD IN PRISON

In Karayel's speech, the emphasis on freedom stood out in particular. The actress, stating that the character she portrayed in the film "Artakalan" set out on a painful journey for the sake of freedom, said she received the award she won for "those who are currently unjustly imprisoned."

Karayel's words were among the notable messages of the night.

"STONE AND FEATHER" VICTORY AT GOLDEN ORANGE

"Stone and Feather" won the Best Film Award in the festival's National Feature Film Competition. The production became the standout film of the night with a total of 6 awards.

The films "Artakalan" and "Kadim Mavi" were also deemed worthy of awards in more than one category.

At the award ceremony, while filmmakers celebrated their achievements, speeches brought freedom, justice, social issues, and the unifying power of cinema to the fore.
