Oytun Erbaş apologized for his controversial remarks.

Prof. Dr. Oytun Erbaş, who faced backlash for his statements regarding the minimum wage during a television program, has apologized. In a statement on his social media account, Erbaş said, "I sincerely apologize to the Turkish people for the confusion I caused in the public, the discomfort I created, and the misunderstandings."

The 30% increase in the minimum wage has been deemed low by many, while Prof. Dr. Oytun Erbaş's statements made during a television program drew reactions on social media. Erbaş stated on the program, "Both beans and meat are protein. We need to learn humility. If the minimum wage were 50, people would spend 50. A poor life is the healthiest life."

APOLOGY MADE

Following the reactions, Erbaş apologized through a statement he published on his social media account. Erbaş, who said, "I am Dr. Oytun Erbaş, the unfortunate statements I made on the program 'TV100-Buket Aydın Asks' were made with complete sincerity," added, "There is no ill intent in them. Since I lead a humble life, I made recommendations to the Turkish people. I sincerely apologize to the Turkish people for the confusion I caused in the public, the discomfort I caused, and the misunderstandings." He concluded with, "Respectfully."
