In the investigation into prostitution conducted by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, digital examinations of the mobile phone of Özgür Gökçe, the brother of Nusret Gökçe previously arrested on charges of "mediating child prostitution," revealed numerous WhatsApp messages documenting a paid prostitution network and organizational structure, which were added to the case file.
The investigation continues by the Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the apprehension of suspects identified as facilitating and providing premises for prostitution in Istanbul.
7 SUSPECTS SENT TO PRISON
In the ongoing investigation, the phones of the suspects were individually monitored. Records revealed individuals supplying customers for prostitution activities and bank accounts where proceeds from prostitution were collected.
On April 17, police teams conducted operations at the addresses of the suspects to identify and uncover their activities. During the operations, 13 suspects were taken into custody. Among those referred to the courthouse, 7 were arrested while 6 were released under judicial control measures.
NUSRET'S BROTHER ARRESTED FOR 'FACILITATING CHILD PROSTITUTION'
In the continuation of the investigation led by the chief prosecutor's office on the matter, a detention order was issued for Özgür Gökçe, brother of Nusret Gökçe, owner of Nusret Restaurants, on charges of 'facilitating child prostitution' after being identified as involved in prostitution activities.
Gökçe was apprehended on April 24 by teams under the Istanbul Police Department and, after being referred to judicial authorities, was arrested on April 27 and sent to prison.
WHATSAPP MESSAGES REVEALED
Finally, within the scope of the investigation closely followed by the public, new technical surveillance data has been obtained that could change the course of the case. Digital examinations scrutinized the mobile phone records belonging to Özgür Gökçe.
According to journalist Burak Doğan, following detailed examinations of the suspect's phone, concrete evidence revealing the network of the prostitution organization was obtained. Based on the data, numerous messages and coordination traffic clearly indicating that Özgür Gökçe facilitated prostitution for money via the WhatsApp application were definitively identified.
