In the Yağlıdere district of Giresun, an uncle and his nephew, Sedat Çelik, who entered a stream to fish, were swept away by a sudden rise in water. Following the tragic incident in Kanlıca village, AFAD, fire department, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. During search efforts conducted under challenging weather and terrain conditions, the location of one person's lifeless body was determined, but due to high water flow, the body has not yet been recovered. Search and rescue operations for the other person missing in the river continue with difficulty.
A heartbreaking news came from the Yağlıdere district of Giresun. An uncle and his nephew, who entered the stream to fish, disappeared after being swept away by the sudden rise of water. In the incident that plunged the region into mourning, the lifeless body of one person was recovered, while search efforts for the missing other person continue under challenging conditions.
FISHING TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred in the Kanlıca village of Yağlıdere district. Uncle Sedat Çelik and his nephew, who shares the same name Sedat Çelik, entered the Yağlıdere Stream to fish and threw shots into the water, facing a terrible surprise in the riverbed. Unable to withstand the suddenly rising water, the uncle and nephew were swept away by the strong current and vanished in an instant.
TEAMS MOBILIZED: BAD NEWS ARRIVED
Upon the notification of nearby citizens, teams poured into the area. Numerous 112 Emergency Health, fire brigade, AFAD, and security teams were dispatched to the scene in a short time. Unfortunately, after efforts carried out by the teams under tough weather and terrain conditions, racing against time, the sad news arrived. During the searches, the lifeless body of one person was located.
HIGH FLOW RATE MAKES OPERATIONS DIFFICULT
It was learned that the identified corpse could not yet be reached due to the extremely high flow rate of the stream. Search and rescue teams, battling the force of the water, are trying to bring the body ashore while simultaneously continuing operations non-stop to find the second missing person. The high water level and current make the search and rescue efforts challenging to carry out.
