Özgür Özel, who was temporarily removed from his position as CHP Chairman by the court, held a meeting lasting approximately 6 hours with Party Assembly members whose duties were terminated due to a 'absolute nullity' decision. At the meeting, a roadmap was determined to collect signatures from delegates after the holiday if reinstated Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu does not decide to hold a congress by the end of Eid al-Adha.
Özgür Özel, who was temporarily removed from the CHP Chairman position by the court, held a meeting with the Party Assembly (PM) members whose duties were nullified by a "absolute nullity" decision.
The meeting chaired by Özel at the CHP Headquarters lasted approximately 6 hours.
ROADMAP DETERMINED
According to information obtained from party sources regarding the meeting, it will be expected that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was reinstated as CHP Chairman by the court, announces the congress decision by the end of the Eid al-Adha holiday.
If this does not happen, signatures will be collected from delegates for an extraordinary elective congress on the first Monday after the Eid al-Adha holiday.
MUST BE HELD WITHIN AT MOST 45 DAYS
According to the CHP Statute, the Chairman must convene an extraordinary congress directly, or upon the PM's decision, or upon application by one-fifth of the total congress members with notarized signatures within 15 days, and the extraordinary congress must be held within at most 45 days, provided it is announced to the relevant parties at least 15 days in advance.
