It has been learned that Özgür Özel's staff in CHP will apply to the court tomorrow with a request for an extraordinary congress and convening committee. CHP Istanbul Deputy Zeynel Emre said, "Tomorrow, we will apply to the civil court of peace for an extraordinary congress."
The ongoing leadership debates within the CHP are moving to the judiciary. After no action was taken on the signatures collected for an extraordinary congress for the administration of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was appointed as the CHP General Chairman by a court decision, Özgür Özel and his team have been mobilized.
APPLICATION TO THE JUDICIARY FOR A "CALL COMMITTEE"
CHP Istanbul Deputy Zeynel Emre, making statements on the agenda in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, summarized the steps they will take, noting that the legal deadline has expired.
Emre, stating that the reasonable and legal period has passed since the notification of the collected signatures, said, "Tomorrow, we will apply to the civil court of peace for an extraordinary congress."
Emphasizing that the main purpose of the application is to establish a "call committee" to take the party to the congress, Emre stated, "A three-person call committee serves only to hold the congress. It only brings the party to the congress. We will make our application tomorrow."
EXPECTATION OF A DECISION FROM THE COURT OF CASSATION BEFORE THE "JUDICIAL RECESS"
Another important highlight in Zeynel Emre's statements was the Court of Cassation process and possible early election preparations. Referencing the "absolute nullity" file pending at the Court of Cassation, Emre said, "To see that Türkiye's pulse is beating at least in terms of the rule of law, we want to see and hear the decision from the Court of Cassation," stressing that it is essential for the decision to be made before the judicial recess.
Stating that they are prepared for all possibilities, Emre conveyed the message, "We are certainly discussing different options. We are making preparations to not leave people, our citizens, without options, and to enter the election regardless of the decision. The path we are walking is the path to power."
WARNING ABOUT FAKE DONATION CAMPAIGNS
At the end of his statement, Zeynel Emre also made an important warning to the public, stating that those collecting money in their name should not be trusted, and said, "We have no donation campaign anywhere in Türkiye. Do not believe anything you do not hear from our mouths."
