Speaking at a rally organized by his party in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to renew elections in 5 provinces and districts. Özel said, "You think you have taken our municipalities from us with judicial games in Aydın, Gaziosmapaşa, Bayrampaşa, Beykoz, and Söke. If you have the courage, let's put the ballot box here, and let the people decide."
This week's address of the rallies organized by the CHP with the slogan "Defending the Will of the Nation" was the Beykoz district of Istanbul.
CALL FOR 'RENEWAL OF ELECTIONS' IN 5 PROVINCES AND DISTRICTS TO PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN
Speaking to the crowd gathered in the rally area, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to renew the elections in certain provinces and districts. Özel said, "You think you have taken our municipalities away from us with judicial games in Aydın, Gaziosmanpaşa, Bayrampaşa, Beykoz, and Söke. If you have the courage, let's put the ballot box here, let the nation decide."
"ARE YOU WILLING TO FACE US?"
Özel's remarks on the subject were as follows: "I am addressing the AK Party members from here and making a call to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: If the boss is the nation, if the real decision-maker is the nation, and if we are the representatives, let's come together and vote. Let's resign the municipal council together. If you trust yourselves, let's step on the scale once again in front of Beykoz. Let's renew the elections. Are you willing to face us? Hey Tayyip Erdoğan, I am calling you: You think you can take our elected municipalities in Aydın Büyükşehir, Beykoz, Bayrampaşa, Gaziosmanpaşa, and Aydın Söke just by threatening some and saying 'Betray your friend, and I will make you the mayor'? I am addressing Tayyip Erdoğan from here: If you have the courage, let's put the ballot box in Aydın, Beykoz, Bayrampaşa, and Gaziosmanpaşa, let the nation decide. Are you willing? Here is the challenge, Tayyip Bey, why are you afraid? Thieves, grabbers, political counterfeiters, political pickpockets cannot manage the municipality. The one whom the nation says will manage the municipality. You political pickpockets. Keep your hands out of the pockets and bags of the people of Beykoz. Those who attempt to steal their will shall be dealt with by the people of Beykoz. I am telling Mr. Erdoğan, I am telling the AK Party Provincial Chairman, I am telling the Beykoz District Chairman: You bring out the namesake of that Aydın gentleman with high heels, nominate him. My candidate is Alaattin Köseler. Here is the challenge. We are here, we are in the squares."
