Reminding that he has a 20-year football career, Erdoğan said, "I have never received a red card in my life. This nation has never shown a red card to the AK Party until today. But these people couldn't escape the red card either."

Before addressing the public at his party's Adana Provincial Congress, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke about Özel's call for a red card.
"THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING"
President Erdoğan stated, "Some are trying to show a red card. It is unclear what they are doing." He added, "It is clear who is showing the red card. They probably have not been able to act as the central referee until now. They will at most perform the role of assistant referees. We will hand them a red card each and continue on our way."
