STATEMENT FROM MINISTER FIDAN ON IRAN
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made statements following the "Informal Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Turkic States Organization" held in Istanbul. Speaking about the ongoing war between the US, Israel, and Iran, Minister Fidan used striking expressions.
"WE TOLD IRAN 'DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN ADVENTURES'"
Minister Fidan, who stated that they had discussions with Iranian officials after the missile fired from Iran was shot down in Turkey, said they warned Iran. Minister Fidan said, "We discussed the missile fired at Turkey with them. We will not fall for provocation. We told Iran, 'Be careful, do not get involved in adventures.'
PEZEŞKİYAN: OUR DEFENSE OPERATIONS ARE AIMED AT THOSE WHO ATTACK US
Additionally, Iranian President Pezeşkiyan emphasized in a message published on the US-based X social media platform that they do not attack allied countries, but target US bases and military capabilities in the region.
Pezeşkiyan, who stated, "Iran has always emphasized the importance of maintaining friendly relations based on mutual respect for good neighborliness, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity with regional countries," continued his statement as follows:
Pezeşkiyan noted that they will resist until death to protect their country, stating, "Iran's defense operations are aimed solely at targets and facilities that are the source and origin of aggressive actions against the Iranian people, and we see them as legitimate targets."
"WE DID NOT ATTACK OUR FRIEND AND ALLIED COUNTRIES"
Addressing the missile attacks by Iran on regional countries, Pezeşkiyan stated, "We did not attack our friend and allied countries, but we targeted American bases, facilities, and military capabilities in the region."
PEZEŞKİYAN HAD APOLOGIZED
Iranian President Pezeşkiyan, in a speech broadcast on state television, made statements regarding his country's security policy, announcing that the Temporary Leadership Council had decided not to attack neighboring countries that do not pose a threat and not to launch missiles.
Using the expression, "I must apologize to the neighboring countries attacked by Iran," Pezeşkiyan said, "Our leader, our commanders, and our students lost their lives due to the enemy's ruthless attack. We have no intention of attacking neighboring countries. They are our brothers, and we are trying to work together to ensure peace and tranquility."
"THE MISSILE WAS NEUTRALIZED IN TIME"
On the other hand, the Ministry of National Defense made a statement regarding the issue, stating: "A ballistic munition, which was detected to have been fired from Iran and directed towards Turkish airspace after passing through Iraqi and Syrian airspace, was timely engaged and neutralized by NATO air and missile defense elements stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean."
"NO CASUALTIES OR INJURIES"
It was determined that the piece of munition that fell in the Dörtyol district of Hatay province belonged to the air defense munition that was used to intercept the threat in the air. There are no casualties or injuries in the incident. Our determination and capacity to ensure the safety of our country and our citizens are at the highest level.
