Images of moments encouraging a young child to try cigarettes and alcohol on social media in Giresun have sparked outrage. Police teams took action upon seeing the images and detained the person who recorded the video.
In images determined to have been taken in the village of Kaynar, affiliated with the Görele district, which quickly spread on social media platforms, a young child was seen holding a pack of cigarettes and a single cigarette removed from the pack. The expressions used by the person named Z.F., who recorded the images with a mobile phone camera, towards the child drew public reaction.
"WHERE WILL WE DRINK TONIGHT"
The images included moments where Z.F. asked the young child questions such as "We will drink beer tonight, right?" and "Where will we drink?" making statements that encourage alcohol and tobacco products. After the images spread on social media, a judicial and administrative investigation was launched. Within the scope of the investigation, Z.F. was taken into custody by teams from the Görele District Police Department.
"IT WAS THE NEIGHBOR'S CHILD, I HAD NO BAD INTENTION"
It was learned that in his statement to the police, Z.F. said, "It was the neighbor's child. I did it as a joke. I had no bad intention. I am regretful." On the other hand, it was reported that a judicial process was initiated by the Giresun Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services regarding the incident.
