The footage recorded in the Şakirpaşa neighborhood of the Seyhan district in Adana revealed a situation that disregards hygiene rules and threatens public health. In the images reported by the Adana News Agency, a street vendor selling red meat openly on a motorcycle drew the reactions of citizens and brought concerns about food safety back to the forefront.

"INDIAN STREET DELICACIES"

The scandalous footage was recorded by a citizen using a mobile phone camera. The citizen who filmed the footage expressed, "Yes, we have returned to India. Indian street delicacies," regarding the meat being sold without any protective measures in the hot weather conditions from the back of the motorcycle. During this period, when cases of food poisoning increase, especially in the summer months, the unsanitary sales raised concerns among the public.

HEALTH HAZARDS

The meat left exposed due to the scorching heat creates an invisible threat, rapidly providing an environment conducive to bacterial growth. High temperatures prepare the ground for rapid bacterial proliferation on the meat, which can lead to various health issues. Pathogens that cause food poisoning can multiply without changing the taste or smell of the meat, putting consumers at great risk. The increasing cases of food poisoning in the summer months make such practices, where the cold chain is not maintained and hygiene rules are ignored, very dangerous for health. Meat and meat products must be kept in the cold chain at all stages from slaughter to consumption. They should be stored in the refrigerator at 0-4°C, in the deep freezer at -18°C or below.
