A 51-year-old high school teacher in Comal County, Texas, was caught in the act by police while engaging in sexual relations with a student. The incident occurred in a house under construction. Jennifer Massey, an art teacher at Davenport High School, was arrested. Police responded to a report of a "suspicious person" in the area and found Massey with her underage male student. According to a statement from the Comal County Sheriff's Office, officers determined during their initial investigation that the couple was engaged in sexual relations. Massey was arrested on charges of "inappropriate relationship between educator and student" and is currently being held in the county jail. The Comal Independent School District, to which the school is affiliated, condemned the incident and placed Massey on administrative leave immediately. The district administration emphasized that student safety is one of their top priorities and stated they would fully cooperate with the police during the investigation. The school administration also sent a message to parents informing them of the situation and announced that Massey would not be returning to the school. This incident has once again brought to the forefront the boundaries of teacher-student relationships and security issues in schools.
