The spiritual leader of Catholics and the President of the Vatican City, Pope Francis, has been receiving treatment for bilateral pneumonia at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome for 37 days due to severe bronchitis he suffered in February. The Vatican Press Office has shared new information regarding the Pope's current health status.
WILL APPEAR BEFORE THE PUBLIC TOMORROW
According to the information provided by the press office, Pope Francis will greet those in front of the Gemelli Hospital from the window during the traditional Sunday prayer to be held tomorrow and will pray with them. Thus, the Pope, who has been hospitalized for more than a month, will appear before the public for the first time, greeting those who have been waiting for him.
HE COULD NOT COMPLETE HIS SPEECH
As part of the traditional "Jubilee" year celebrated by the Catholic Church every 25 years, the Pope had presided over a special mass for approximately 30,000 soldiers from different countries, mostly Italian security forces, on February 9. During the mass, the Pope had difficulty breathing due to bronchitis while speaking. He had asked his assistant to complete his speech.
