President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. During the reception, Erdoğan welcomed Prime Minister al-Sudani at the entrance of the Vahdettin Mansion. Erdoğan then met with al-Sudani, whom he later showed around the mansion. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan was also present at the reception. President Erdoğan stated that Turkey and Iraq are two neighboring countries with deep historical and cultural ties, and that developing relations and evaluating cooperation opportunities, especially the Development Road Project, would provide countless benefits for both countries, and that they would continue to take the necessary steps with determination. "TERRORISM IS A SECURITY RISK FOR BOTH TURKEY AND IRAQ"President Erdoğan noted that terrorist organizations pose security risks for both Turkey and Iraq, and that fighting all terrorist organizations without discrimination would serve the peace and stability of both countries. He expressed that the positive steps taken by the Iraqi government in the fight against the PKK/KCK terrorist organization pleased Turkey. "ISRAEL'S ATTACKS MUST BE STOPPED"Erdoğan stated that Israel's aggression is a threat to both regional and world peace, and that to prevent this, the international community, especially regional countries, must act in solidarity to ensure peace and tranquility.
