President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements during the signing ceremony of agreements and the joint press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiya al-Sudani at the Presidential Complex. President Erdoğan expressed concern that the tension between Pakistan and India could escalate into war.

President Erdoğan stated: "I would like to once again welcome Prime Minister Sudani and his delegation. We have gained significant momentum in our relations through my visits to Iraq. We will continue to strengthen this. We exchanged views on regional developments, especially regarding Syria. We signed documents that will advance our relations further. We do not see our relations with Iraq, with which we have deep historical and cultural ties, merely as relations between two states. We consider the development of our cooperation in every field as a requirement of our brotherhood. We have never separated Iraq's peace and stability from our country, nor do we.

In our discussions, we emphasized the importance of our cooperation in security and the fight against terrorism. We reaffirmed our determination to continue our joint struggle against the PKK, FETÖ, and ISIS, which pose threats to both Turkey and Iraq's national security. Our trade volume with Iraq has approached 18 billion dollars. We believe our potential is much greater. The development road project will greatly contribute to the prosperity of both Iraq and our region. We discussed the steps to rapidly implement the project in our meeting. We invite all countries interested in this path to be a part of this project.

INDIA-PAKISTAN TENSION: WE ARE CONCERNED

Israel believes it can ensure its security by drowning the region in blood. Over time, we will see that this is an illusion. With Israel completely halting humanitarian aid efforts, the danger of famine in Gaza has now reached a point that could lead to mass deaths. We agreed on the necessity of increasing pressure on Israel, including the actions we can take. We are concerned that the tension between India and Pakistan could escalate into a hot conflict. I pray for God's mercy on our brothers who lost their lives in the attacks, and I once again extend my condolences to the people and government of brotherly Pakistan. Yesterday, we had an important meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. We view Pakistan's proposal for an international investigation into the heinous terrorist attack in Kashmir positively. We are making every effort to reduce the tension.
