President Erdoğan made a statement regarding Fatma Nur Çelik, who was murdered by a student in high school. Erdoğan said, "There can be no justification or excuse for the violence against our teachers, who deserve to be honored. This incident, which has saddened us all as a nation, will be pursued, and everything necessary will be done to ensure that the perpetrator receives the punishment they deserve."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the Host Turkey - Ankara 31,073 Housing Lottery Draw Ceremony held at the Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center.
Referring to the murder of Fatma Nur Çelik, who lost her life in a knife attack by her student in Çekmeköy, Istanbul, Erdoğan said, "At the very beginning of my words, I wish abundant mercy from God for our teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, who passed away in the heinous attack she suffered at a high school in Çekmeköy, Istanbul yesterday. I wish patience to the family and relatives of our late teacher, and I extend my condolences to our education community, which serves our country with great sacrifice. There can be no justification for what has been done to our esteemed teachers. Let alone violence, disrespecting a teacher, who Hazrat Ali said would be a slave for 40 years to anyone who teaches him a letter, is unacceptable in our faith and culture. Our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and our Ministry of Justice have initiated an administrative investigation. This incident, which has saddened us all as a nation, will be pursued with determination, and everything necessary will be done to ensure that the perpetrator receives the punishment they deserve. I also wish urgent healing from Almighty God to our teacher and student who were injured in the same attack. May God grant our teacher Fatma Nur a place in paradise." he said.
