Unprecedented and striking images from the assassination of John F. Kennedy sold for $110,000 at auction. The 8mm color silent film captures the tragic event that took place in Dallas in 1963. The footage, shot by local truck driver Dale Carpenter Sr., shows the presidential motorcade passing through the city and the rapid return to the hospital after JFK was shot. The film features police vehicles and the presidential limousine. Dramatic moments are also captured when Secret Service Agent Clint Hill jumped onto the back of the vehicle to protect the First Lady and the injured president. At the auction organized by Boston-based RR Auction, the film was expected to sell for between $100,000 and $150,000. Bobby Livingston, a representative of the company, stated that the footage offers a unique perspective on one of America's most tragic days and provides a new resource for historians. Meanwhile, Kennedy's bloodstained long underwear was listed for sale on eBay last month for $1 million. The bloodstains on the underwear indicate that Kennedy had a wound on his lower leg. These items are one of two pairs sold at an auction in 1998. Another pair of Kennedy's long underwear was sold by Heritage Auctions in 2010. It is reported that the name "John F. Kennedy" is stitched on the collar of this underwear. These newly emerged images and items show that interest in the JFK assassination is still alive and shed light on the details of this historical event.
