Prince William made statements about the health condition of his wife, Princess Kate, who is undergoing cancer treatment. Speaking before the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Cape Town, William said, "Kate is doing very well. I hope she is watching me tonight. This year has been incredible." The 42-year-old prince traveled to South Africa without Princess Kate, who is continuing her chemotherapy treatment. William also shared information about his family's eco-friendly lifestyle at Adelaide Cottage, calling for "hope and optimism." Speaking to BBC and Sky News before the £50 million Earthshot Prize, the prince stated, "Kate is really doing well. She will be very eager for tonight's ceremony to be successful." As an emotional gesture, William wore a bracelet made by his 9-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, throughout his four-day trip, saying, "This is a bracelet my daughter wanted to make after the Taylor Swift concert. She gave it to me before I left and I promised I wouldn't lose it." The fourth Earthshot Prize is being held in Africa as a "homecoming," as William's idea first emerged in Namibia. At the glamorous ceremony, which will take place in an eco-dome, five winners will each receive £1 million. In his speech expressing his love for Africa, William said, "I love this continent and I have spent many years exploring it. I can't wait to see the excitement and energy that will build around Earthshot in South Africa tonight." Speaking about the award he initiated to find solutions to climate change and bring optimism to the discussion, the prince emphasized the importance of the role of young people, stating, "These are the game changers. These are the innovators. These are the inventors who will make our future a better place."
