Eighteen inmates at the Hilvan Type T Closed Prison No. 1 in Şanlıurfa were hospitalized on suspicion of food poisoning after eating food they had cooked themselves. It was reported that the health conditions of the inmates receiving treatment in the hospital are good.
In Şanlıurfa, 18 inmates who ate food they cooked themselves in the prison were taken to the hospital on suspicion of food poisoning.
The incident occurred at Hilvan No. 1 Type T Closed Penal Institution. According to allegations, inmates who ate the meals they prepared in their dormitories in the evening hours experienced symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain shortly after. Upon reporting the situation, health teams were dispatched to the prison.
A LARGE NUMBER OF INMATES REQUIRED HOSPITALIZATION
18 inmates who received first aid in the prison infirmary were transferred to Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital by ambulances under security measures. It was learned that the health conditions of the inmates receiving treatment in the emergency department were good.
After the incident, samples of the food and water from the prison were taken and sent to the laboratory for examination. Police and gendarmerie teams took security measures around the hospital where the treated inmates were located.
