Former Istanbul Provincial Chairman and Member of Parliament Berhan Şimşek has been permanently expelled from the party by the High Disciplinary Board, in accordance with the provision regarding "conduct and behavior that are incompatible with the duties and responsibilities they hold in the party and their membership." Additionally, former Member of Parliament Metin Lütfü Baydar and Sultanbeyli delegate Özgür Çelik were also among those expelled from the party.

The YDK decided to expel former Istanbul Provincial Chairman and former Istanbul Deputy Berhan Şimşek, who was referred to disciplinary action for "behaving in a manner inconsistent with the duties and responsibilities they hold in the party and their membership."

Additionally, the YDK decided to expel former Aydın Deputy Metin Lütfü Baydar and Sultanbeyli delegate Özgür Çelik from the party.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

The CHP had referred former Provincial Chairman Berhan Şimşek, who made a statement alongside Gürsel Tekin, appointed as the trustee of the Istanbul Provincial Chairmanship by court order, to the disciplinary board with a request for expulsion. In the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting of the CHP held on September 15, it was unanimously decided to refer Berhan Şimşek to disciplinary action with a request for expulsion due to 'behaviors that undermine party discipline.'

Şimşek, who said to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, "He is acting as the messenger pigeon of Silivri," also stated, "When there is absolute nullity, we will act together with Kemal Bey." Regarding the absolute nullity, Şimşek said: "I am a member of the Party Assembly. When there is absolute nullity, we will act together with Kemal Bey. Kemal Bey has been wronged. The problem here is that they are looking at the daisy fortune, whether it will happen or not. A clear decision should be made on the 24th. The CHP has also lost its energy."
