Reminding that the differences in administrative, financial, and social rights among employees in the public sector, despite doing the same job in the same places and services, negatively affect the motivation and working peace of employees, MHP Konya Deputy Mustafa Kalaycı stated, "It is necessary to establish a public personnel system that will be based on competence and merit, eliminate the confusion of status and employment, ensure wage justice, provide quality service to the community, and have a high ability to adapt to changing conditions and be more efficient." "LIVING STANDARDS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED"Kalaycı stated that as the MHP, they believe that the living conditions of employees should be taken into account in determining the minimum wage for the year 2025, that the net minimum wage should be above the hunger threshold, and that transportation and housing support should be provided to minimum wage earners in large cities. "ADDITIONAL WELFARE SHARE SHOULD BE GIVEN TO INCREASES IN 2025"Kalaycı also expressed the following views regarding the salaries of public employees and retirees: The salaries of public employees have increased by an average of 129% in 2023 and by 78.07% in 2024. In addition to the increases determined by collective bargaining, a welfare share was also provided in January 2023 and 2024. It would be appropriate to provide an additional welfare share for the increases in 2025. Article 55 of Law No. 5510 stipulates that the income and salaries granted under this law should be determined by increasing the previous six-month period's amount by the CPI change rate, effective from the payment dates of January and July of each year. Again, we believe that an additional welfare share should be provided in 2025 for this increase to our SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees.
