Gebze Republic Prosecutor Ayhan Uyumaz died at the age of 49 due to a heart attack during a hearing.
Gebze Republic Prosecutor Ayhan Uyumaz (49), who was on duty at the hearing in Gebze 1st Heavy Penal Court, was taken to hospital after falling ill.
PROSECUTOR UYUMAZ PASSED AWAY IN THE HOSPITAL
Uyumaz, who was determined to have suffered a heart attack, could not be saved despite the intervention. A ceremony will be held for Uyumaz at Gebze Courthouse tomorrow.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek said in his condolence message: "I learned with great sadness of the death of our Gebze Republic Prosecutor Ayhan Uyumaz, who lost his life due to an illness he suffered while on duty.
I wish mercy from Almighty Allah for our late prosecutor; condolences and patience to his family, loved ones, and our judiciary community. May his place be heaven."
A CEREMONY WILL BE HELD AT THE COURTHOUSE

"Republic Prosecutor Ayhan Uyumaz, who was serving at the Gebze Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, died as a result of a heart attack he suffered on June 16, 2026, while performing his duty as the hearing prosecutor. The sudden death of our esteemed colleague, distinguished by his dedication to duty, professional expertise, and selfless work, has caused deep sorrow in our organization and judiciary community. We wish mercy from Allah for the deceased, and condolences and patience to his grieving family, loved ones, and our judiciary organization. A ceremony will be held for the late Republic Prosecutor Ayhan Uyumaz on June 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Gebze Chief Public Prosecutor's Office protocol area. Respectfully announced to the public."
