In an operation targeting prostitution in massage parlors conducted by the police in Edirne, 15 suspects were detained. The parlors had hidden compartments and a bell system to alert against inspections.
The Edirne Police Department's Public Order and Intelligence Branch teams, in their operation targeting massage parlors, determined that some establishments were acting outside their business activities, making prostitution offers to male customers, providing locations for prostitution, and facilitating it, thereby obtaining unjust profits by forcing female employees into prostitution.
15 PEOPLE DETAINED
After three months of technical and physical surveillance, the police carried out a simultaneous operation on five massage parlors and detained 15 suspects. It was found that one of the suspects had a confirmed prison sentence of 11 years, 1 month, and 10 days for 'robbery with multiple persons' and that a warrant had been issued for him for 'armed robbery and deprivation of liberty.'
DOCUMENTS SEIZED
Inspections at the establishments revealed that hidden compartments and a bell system had been installed to counter inspections. During the searches, digital materials, sexual content products, and documents deemed to be used as appointment books were seized. In relation to the operation, 29 women working in the salons were identified as victims, and statements were taken from 19 individuals who were found to have engaged in or been offered prostitution for information purposes.
