Approximately 10,000 people took to the streets in West Jerusalem to protest the policies of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's government.

According to a report by Yediot Ahronot newspaper, around 10,000 people marched from Kaplan Street, located between the Supreme Court and the Israeli Parliament in West Jerusalem, to the square in front of the government building.

PROTESTERS TARGET NETANYAHU'S GOVERNMENT

The protesters demanded the dismissal of the head of the internal security agency Shin Bet (Shabak), Ronen Bar, the cessation of negotiations for a prisoner exchange agreement to bring back Israelis held in Gaza, the approval of the 2025 budget, and the plan to dismiss the Israeli government's legal advisor, Ghali Behrav Mayara.

The demonstration, which saw high participation, was attended by prominent figures in the fields of economy and law, as well as significant opposition figures like Benny Gantz, the leader of the National Unity Party.

Yechiel Hilli Tropper, a member of the National Unity Party, stated, "We should all think of ourselves or our family members as if they were in the Gaza tunnels. This means mutual responsibility."

Channel 12's report in Israel also mentioned that steps taken by the government to increase its influence over the judiciary, such as changing the method of appointing judges, were protested.

INTELLIGENCE CHIEF DISMISSED, ISRAEL IN TURMOIL

In Israel, the political and social reaction against the decision to dismiss Ronen Bar, the head of the internal security agency Shin Bet, by Netanyahu's government, along with the Supreme Court's suspension of this decision, has heightened tensions between the government and the judiciary, as well as in the streets and politics.

Netanyahu's decision to dismiss Bar has sparked heated debates in Israeli politics, leading to mass protests across Israel in response to calls from the opposition.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Meanwhile, under the shadow of political tension, Israel had also resumed attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, breaking the ceasefire.

Netanyahu's government claimed that it aimed to "rescue the Israeli hostages in Gaza" by breaking the ceasefire established on January 19, which was met with backlash from the families of the Israeli hostages, who labeled it "a deception."
