The National Vehicle Recognition System, developed to increase transparency in the sector and combat the informal economy by digitally recording fuel sales, is rapidly progressing with the installation of TTBs on vehicles and equipment at fuel stations.

Within the framework of the UTTs Application General Communiqué; vehicles acquired through leasing, included in the business, or used in the job must have TTBs installed by the latest April 30, 2025; all vehicles not included in this scope but registered in the TTS programs of fuel distribution companies must have TTBs installed by July 1, 2025.

EXPENSES FOR FUEL NOT REGISTERED IN THE SYSTEM CANNOT BE SHOWN AS DEDUCTIONS

All taxpayers must complete the TTB installation processes by selecting the most suitable installation point from authorized installation companies across Turkey by the end of the day on April 30, 2025, by performing the necessary transactions at utts.gov.tr. Thanks to UTTs, license plate information will be automatically transferred to the system during fuel purchases, preventing the issuance of fraudulent documents, thus avoiding billions of lira in tax losses each year. Documents not regulated under UTTs will be considered as not issued at all according to the Tax Procedure Law (VUK), and taxpayers who do not register in the system within the specified period will not be able to show their fuel expenses as deductions.

TTB OBLIGATION REMOVED FOR VEHICLES TO BE LAUNCHED AFTER JULY 1

With the communiqué change made on March 29, 2025, the obligation to install TTB, that is, the vehicle recognition unit, has been removed for individual vehicles that will be registered and launched into the market as of July 1, 2025.

DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR LPG VEHICLES

Additionally, with the mentioned communiqué change, the installation period for TTBs on LPG vehicles and the installation of Vehicle Recognition Readers (TTO) at LPG islands in fuel stations has been extended until December 31, 2025.

ORDER QUANTITY NEARS 3 MILLION

The number of vehicles for which installation and activation have been completed under UTTs has exceeded 1.3 million, while taxpayers and individuals who are obliged to install TTBs under the UTTs application can complete their registration and payment transactions by visiting utts.gov.tr. Authorities warn citizens to carry out their transactions only through utts.gov.tr, not to trust fake websites opened with similar names, and not to conduct transactions on these sites to avoid any grievances.

UTTS PRICE HAS DROPPED

The installation prices have been updated in the National Vehicle Recognition System (UTTS), developed to record fuel purchases of vehicles in Turkey and prevent tax evasion.

The installation and service fee for the chips, which form the basis of the system and are referred to as the Vehicle Recognition Unit (TTB), was announced as 2,791.45 TL including VAT for the year 2025.

According to the announcement made by the Mint's official website, the installation service fee will be applied as a total of 2,172 TL including VAT, valid between March 25, 2025, and April 30, 2025.
