Protests held in France in reaction to the cost of living and against problems in the education system turned into violent incidents in many cities across the country. In various cities, especially Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and Bordeaux, protesters clashed with police, vehicles were set on fire, businesses were looted, and public buildings were damaged. The historic city hall in Limoges also suffered heavy damage in a fire.

THEY SET THE STREETS ON FIRE

On October 17, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets in demonstrations held nationwide. In the actions, where reactions to the cost of living and the education system stood out, there were violent incidents as well as peaceful marches. As some groups clashed with police, barricades were set up in the streets, and garbage containers and bicycles were set on fire. Security forces used tear gas against the protesters.
