PUTIN INCREASED THE NUMBER OF MILITARY PERSONNEL
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree increasing the number of military personnel in the Russian army. According to the decree published in the Russian State Legal Information System, the personnel count of the Russian Armed Forces has been set at 2 million 391 thousand 770, including 1 million 502 thousand 640 soldiers. This decree came into effect immediately upon signing.
NUMBER OF SOLDIERS FIGHTING IN UKRAINE EXCEEDS 700 THOUSAND
With a decree signed in 2024, Putin had increased the personnel count in the Russian army to 2 million 389 thousand 130, including 1 million 500 thousand soldiers. At the end of last year, Putin reported that more than 700 thousand soldiers were fighting in the war in Ukraine. Additionally, contract and volunteer soldiers are also serving in the Russian army to fight in Ukraine.
