EMPHASIS ON "DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC" IN THE NEW NAME
It was stated that with the acceptance of the joint report, the process has been brought to a legal and judicial ground, and it was expressed that the party management is working on the name change. It was reported that the new name aims to include the phrase "Democratic Republic."
According to Habertürk's news, party officials argue that the concept of "Republic" needs to be redefined, emphasizing that science and democracy should be prioritized instead of weapons. It is noted that the change is related to the party's goal of reaching a broader voter base across Turkey.
COMPONENT STRUCTURES WILL BE CLOSED
In the new period, it is planned to conduct politics under a single roof. In this context, it is anticipated that structures such as the Democratic Society Congress (DTK), the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK), and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) will be closed.
With the expected change that will also reflect in the election process, it is stated that leftist components will conduct politics under a single party roof; that deputies elected from the DEM Party lists will not be able to switch to another party.
RENEWAL IN PERSONNEL
A change is also planned in the party management. It is stated that Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan will continue in his position, but there will be a significant renewal in other personnel.
