THE FIRST COMMENT FROM ERDOĞAN HAS ARRIVED
President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended his party's Provincial Organization Iftar Program at the Atatürk Airport National Garden Hangar in Istanbul. Erdoğan, whose comments on the conflicts between the USA, Israel, and Iran were eagerly awaited, has made his first statement.
President Erdoğan said: "While embracing our 86 million citizens during the month of Ramadan, we certainly do not forget our brothers in our heart and cultural geography. The wars between Pakistan-Afghanistan on one side and Iran-Gulf on the other cannot be forgotten. It is well known what lies beneath all of these, it is well known. Our humanitarian aid organizations, such as the Diyanet Foundation, TİKA, and the Red Crescent, are reaching out to the oppressed and victims with a spirit of mobilization.
"WE ARE DEEPLY CONCERNED ABOUT ATTACKS ON IRAN"
I must emphasize the following point: As Turkey, while striving for peace, tranquility, and stability to prevail in our region and the Islamic world during these blessed days, we feel deep sorrow and concern about the attacks on our neighbor Iran, which are said to have started with the provocations of Benjamin Netanyahu.
"PROBLEMS SHOULD BE SOLVED THROUGH DIALOGUE AND DIPLOMACY"
We absolutely do not wish for our region to be dragged into a new spiral of conflict. We believe that problems should be resolved through dialogue, diplomacy, and common sense. As Turkey, we will continue to stand by peace, stability, and brotherhood.
"WE CONDEMN ATTACKS THAT VIOLATE IRAN'S SOVEREIGNTY"
As you know, we have put in a lot of effort for a resolution at the diplomacy table. The desired outcome has not been achieved because the negotiation process could not be overcome for various reasons, and Israel's efforts to poison the process continue. We condemn the attacks this morning that clearly violate Iran's sovereignty and threaten the peace of the friendly, brotherly Iranian people.
