In an operation conducted simultaneously by the gendarmerie at 2 addresses where counterfeit perfume was being produced in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul, 120,115 counterfeit perfumes belonging to world-famous brands, with a market value of 350 million TL, were seized. At the addresses, 11,680 liters of ethyl alcohol, 550 liters of perfume essence, thousands of empty bottles and boxes, and filling machines were also found. The 2 suspects caught were referred to judicial authorities.
In Istanbul's Bayrampaşa district, gendarmerie teams carried out an operation at 2 addresses where counterfeit perfume was being produced. During the operation, 120,115 counterfeit perfumes belonging to world-famous brands, with a market value of 350 million TL, were seized.
SIMULTANEOUS RAID ON TWO ADDRESSES
Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command took action after receiving information that counterfeit perfume was being produced and would be put on the market in Bayrampaşa district. As a result of intelligence work and physical surveillance, it was determined that suspicious individuals were producing at 2 addresses and making the products ready for sale. Gendarmerie teams carried out a simultaneous operation at the addresses in question on October 21, 2026, in order to prevent the suspects from obtaining unfair gain and to seize criminal elements.
11 THOUSAND LITERS OF ETHYL ALCOHOL FOUND
During the operation, in addition to 120,115 counterfeit perfumes, 11,680 liters of ethyl alcohol used in perfume production, 489,450 production and packaging materials, 56,864 empty perfume bottles, 9,664 empty perfume boxes, 550 liters of perfume essence, 1 filling machine, 1 air compressor machine, 2 perfume capping machines, 1 perfume wrapping machine, and 1 perfume distillation machine were seized.
The 2 suspects who were caught were referred to judicial authorities after their statements were taken.
