The Chairman of the DEVA Party, Ali Babacan, reacted to the 25% increase in electricity and natural gas prices, stating, "This increase is not only very wrong in terms of expectation management, but it will also further burden our citizens who are already struggling under the cost of living. Even if there are rapid increases in energy costs, taxes should be reduced, temporary subsidies should be implemented, and broad segments should be protected."

"In a year where the annual inflation is targeted at 20%, a sudden 25% increase was made in electricity and natural gas prices. This increase is not only very wrong in terms of expectation management, but it will also further burden our citizens who are already struggling under the cost of living. Even if there are rapid increases in energy costs; taxes should be reduced, temporary subsidies should be implemented, and broad segments should be protected. Expectations should never be allowed to deteriorate. The state exists for this purpose, and economic management exists for this purpose."
