A young woman argued that the Ramadan drum played at suhoor time is no longer necessary, as it disturbs people in the early hours, and she requested that the practice be discontinued.
A citizen reacted on social media to the drumming during the pre-dawn meal in the month of Ramadan. The citizen, who stated that he lives in a small town, argued that the traditional practice has become unnecessary.
"IT STARTS DRUMMING AT 4 AM"
The citizen, who noted that the time for the pre-dawn meal in his city is 6:00 AM, expressed that the drum starts at 4:00 AM, saying, "Some people wake up, some do not. Those who wake up are already waking up with their alarms. Everyone has an alarm now, so what is the need for the Ramadan drummer?"
The citizen stated that the tradition of drumming has lost its function under today's conditions, expressing that the practice especially causes disturbance at early hours.
"MONEY IS REQUESTED AT THE END OF RAMADAN"
The young girl also mentioned that multiple people request money by saying, "I am the Ramadan drummer" at the end of Ramadan, expressing her reaction with the words, "I demand that this practice come to an end."
