A person who placed a virtual bet on the Galatasaray-Konyaspor match announced that he lost approximately 1 million lira as a result of the bets he placed with the money he got from selling his vehicle. After this post, President Erdoğan's remarks on the matter came back to the agenda.
A person who placed a virtual bet on the Galatasaray-Konyaspor match stated that they lost approximately 1 million lira. In a message shared on social media, the individual explained that after selling their vehicle, they invested all their money in the match and expressed that they experienced a significant financial loss in a short time.
"I LOST MY CAR IN 2 HOURS"
The person, who mentioned in the post that they sold their vehicle and saved money to buy the car they wanted, reported that they placed a bet of 230 thousand lira for the match and then played higher amounts to recover their loss. Stating that they lost approximately 970 thousand lira in a short time, the individual said, "I lost my car in 2 hours."
ERDOĞAN'S MESSAGE CAME TO MIND
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had previously pointed out the social risks of virtual betting and gambling in a statement. Erdoğan said, "We have implemented a comprehensive action plan to eradicate the scourge of virtual betting and gambling that drags our people into a quagmire. Especially if we do not crush the head of this modern-day plague called addiction early, God forbid, we may face deeper social crises tomorrow."
