The number of real estate sold across Turkey is expected to exceed 3.3 million in 2025, marking a record with an increase of 8.7% compared to the previous year, while December saw the highest monthly sales figure at 458,757. Last year, over 20.6 million transactions were carried out in land registry offices, generating a revenue of 168 billion 146 million Turkish lira from these transactions.
According to data compiled from the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre (TKGM), all real estate sales, including housing, land, fields, workplaces, and commercial properties, which started rapidly in 2025, continued to maintain this momentum for most of the year.
INCREASE IN THE FIRST 9 MONTHS OF THE YEAR
Throughout the year, real estate sales increased in January, February, April, May, June, July, August, September, and December compared to the same periods in 2024, while showing a decline in March, October, and November. The number of real estate sold nationwide was 238,938 in January, 232,756 in February, 222,934 in March, 237,829 in April, 263,643 in May, 218,282 in June, 284,852 in July, 290,564 in August, 300,687 in September, 310,457 in October, 273,295 in November, and 458,757 in December.
RECORD BROKEN IN 2025
In the January-December period of last year, real estate sales increased by 8.7% to reach 3,332,994. This figure was recorded as the highest annual data of all time. The previous highest figure was 3,234,200 in 2022. The annual increase of nearly 16.1% in December, when the all-time monthly sales record was broken, drew attention.
REVENUE FROM TITLE TRANSACTIONS EXCEEDS 168.1 BILLION LIRA
During this period, a total of 20,618,149 transactions were carried out in land registry offices. More than 3.3 million of these were sales, approximately 1.4 million were mortgages, 508,000 were transfers, 178,000 were corrections, 71,400 were expropriations, 54,000 were separations, 45,000 were donations, 31,500 were consolidations, and 30,600 were partition transactions. Other transactions exceeded 14.8 million. The revenue from the fees obtained from the transactions carried out in the land registry during this period increased by 74.9% to reach 168 billion 146 million 103 thousand lira. Of this, 160.7 billion lira came from sales transactions.
