PROSECUTOR REQUESTED ARREST

The prosecutor in the courtroom No. 2 of Marmara Prison in Silivri, after the defenses, claimed that the defendants could 'tamper with evidence' and had a 'risk of fleeing,' requesting the continuation of their detention and judicial control measures. Additionally, the prosecution requested the preparation of an expert report.

COURT DECIDED ON RELEASE

After a while, the court announced its decision, ordering the release of the 14 youths who had been detained since March 28. The judicial control measures for 2 students who were being tried without detention were also lifted.

829 SUSPECTS IN 20 SEPARATE INVESTIGATIONS

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 20 separate investigations were being conducted regarding the protests held after the investigation initiated against the IMM. There are 829 suspects in these investigations. The majority of those arrested are charged with 'violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations.' Prison sentences ranging from 6 months to 3 years are being sought for the suspects.
