Berna Laçin, who was detained and then released due to her remarks about İzmir, added a caption to her photo taken with friends in front of the courthouse. Actress Berna Laçin, who was released after being detained, published a photo taken with her friends in front of the courthouse. Saying she was fine to those wondering about her, Laçin explained that her phone was still at the courthouse.
“THERE ARE 700 MESSAGES IN JUST ONE GROUP”
Laçin began her statement with the words, “I apologize to my friends for the brief inconvenience I caused.” The actress, saying “Being loved is a beautiful thing, life is beautiful with friends,” noted that there were many people trying to reach her.
Laçin, saying there were 700 messages even in a single message group, stated that because her phone was at the courthouse she bought a new phone, and that her number had not changed. The actress addressed those who supported her with the words, “Thanks to everyone who called, asked after me, and wondered; I’m fine, may you all be well.”
SHE HAD BEEN DETAINED BECAUSE OF HER İZMİR REMARKS
Berna Laçin had used the statements “İzmir was occupied before too, don’t be afraid!” after İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay joined the AK Party. Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office had launched an investigation against the actress over the statements in question on the charge of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility or denigrating the public.”
Laçin, who was detained in Istanbul on October 7, was referred to the criminal judgeship of peace the next day with a request for arrest after the statement procedures at the prosecutor’s office, and was released by the court.
