UP TO 3 YEARS IN PRISON REQUESTED

In the indictment accepted by the Ankara 27th Criminal Court of First Instance, a prison sentence of up to three years was requested for Aşılıoğlu.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 23, an incident occurred on Talatpaşa Boulevard in the Altındağ district of Ankara, where a vehicle belonging to Beker was stopped by a police officer due to the closure of Cumhuriyet Avenue to traffic. As Beker got out of the vehicle to speak with the police officers, his driver, İrfan Aşılıoğlu, took the wheel and moved the vehicle. At that moment, the police officer in front tried to stop the vehicle.

After the incident, the police officer received a report from the hospital, and an investigation was initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against driver İrfan Aşılıoğlu on the charge of "resisting the performance of duty." İ.A., who was taken into custody, was released under judicial control conditions at the courthouse where he was brought.

An investigation was also initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Parliamentary Crimes Investigation Bureau regarding CHP member Adnan Beker, who was in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
