In posts on social media, Murat Boz asked authorities for help, stating that many people were trapped in the studio. Boz, who said the power was out and water was continuing to fill the building, called for an emergency evacuation.
Boz stated that the women in the building had been moved to a higher section, but that there was also a capacity problem there. Noting that leaving the building was not possible because the water level was rising and surrounding roads were submerged, Boz asked authorities for support.

Actress Demet Özdemir was also trapped in the same building as Murat Boz and his brother Ali Boz. Özdemir also called for help from her social media account.
