Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavas responded to claims that he would resign from the CHP and join the IYI Party. Yavas said, 'If I deem it necessary, and if I have something to say, I will make that statement myself. When there is a development regarding me, you will hear it directly from me, not from others.'
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş has put an end to the rumors circulating in the public that he would resign from the Republican People's Party and join the İYİ Party or another political formation.
"I AM CONSTANTLY EXPECTED TO RESPOND TO THESE SCENARIOS"
In a written statement, Mansur Yavaş expressed his reaction to the situation, stating that a new political scenario is being put forward about him every day. Complaining about being constantly associated with different parties and being expected to respond, Yavaş answered the allegations with these words:
"In recent days, a new political scenario has been put forward about me every day. One day it is said I will switch to one party, another day my name is mentioned in a different political calculation. Although I have made statements many times on this matter, I am constantly expected to respond to these scenarios."
"YOU WILL HEAR IT DIRECTLY FROM ME, NOT FROM OTHERS"
Yavaş, who displayed a clear stance against the gossip circulating in political circles, emphasized that if there were any potential political development regarding him, it would be heard directly from him, not through intermediaries. Stating that they remain outside all political debates, Yavaş continued his statement as follows:
"If I deem it necessary, if I have something to say, I will make that statement myself. When there is a development regarding me, you will hear it directly from me, not from others. We are outside all these debates, focused on our work. Because our agenda is clear, and that is Ankara."
WORK HOURS FOCUSED ON MUNICIPAL PROJECTS
Yavaş, stating that instead of the political gossip in the corridors, they focus on the daily operations of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, infrastructure works, and new projects, reminded that they continue their transparent and accountable management approach and concluded his words as follows:
"I also want you not to forget one fact. We carry the trust that the people of Ankara have given us, and we have been trying to do justice to this trust since the very first day we received it. Be it lacking or more! In the morning, I follow the ongoing works of the municipality, discuss problems with my bureaucrats, evaluate our infrastructure investments, and think about our social supports, rural development, our new projects, and the future of Ankara. On one hand, we are working and conducting negotiations for the new metro lines whose groundbreaking ceremonies we will hold."
"OUR PRIORITY IS ANKARA"
Mansur Yavaş, stating that he does not hesitate to express his thoughts openly when necessary on matters of law, justice, democracy, and the future of the nation, concluded his assessment by reminding of his promise to the people of Ankara:
"Because we have a promise to our fellow citizens in Ankara. We promised a transparent, fair, and accountable administration. We said we would serve without distinguishing anyone, regardless of their political views, even safeguarding every kuruş of Ankara. When necessary, I openly express my thoughts on law, justice, democracy, and the future of our nation. I want to remind once again clearly: Our priority is Ankara."
