The President of Memur-Sen, Ali Yalçın, responded to the government's latest wage offer. Yalçın stated, "They say they are adding 2 points to the 10+6 offer presented to us, making it 11+7 for 2026, and leaving 4+4 for 2027. They call these figures the final offer. There is no such thing; this cannot be the final offer."

Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın, who stated that they did not accept the government's latest wage offer, said, "They say they are leaving 11+7 for 2026 by adding 2 points to the 10+6 offer presented to us; for 2027, they are leaving 4+4. They call these figures the final offer. There is no such thing; this cannot be the final offer."

GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC SERVICE UNIONS MET

The 8th Term Collective Bargaining negotiations, which cover approximately 4 million civil servants and 2.5 million retired civil servants, are underway. In this process, Memur-Sen General President Ali Yalçın, Turkey Kamu-Sen General President Önder Kahveci, and Birleşik Kamu-İş General President Orhan Yıldırım met with Minister Vedat Işıkhan at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. During the meeting, the Public Employer Delegation conveyed its final offer regarding the 8th Term Collective Bargaining to the union representatives.

FINAL WAGE OFFER FROM THE GOVERNMENT TO CIVIL SERVANTS

According to the initial offer announced by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, the government's first wage offer on August 12, 2025, was 10% for the first six months of 2026, 6% for the second six months, 4% for the first six months of 2027, and again 4% for the second six months. On August 15, Minister Işıkhan proposed an increase of 1,000 lira to the base salary of civil servants in the ongoing interim negotiations in addition to the offers made. In the latest offer shared by the ministry, an increase of 11% for the first six months of 2026, 7% for the second six months, 4% for the first six months of 2027, and again 4% for the second six months was proposed. Additionally, the proposal for a 1,000 lira increase in the base salary given on August 15 was reiterated.

MEMUR-SEN: THESE FIGURES ARE REALLY RIDICULOUS

The first response from Memur-Sen to the government has arrived. Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın stated that the offer is low, saying: "They say they are leaving 11+7 for 2026 by adding 2 points to the 10+6 offer presented to us; for 2027, they are leaving 4+4. They call these figures the final offer. There is no such thing; this cannot be the final offer. There will never be peace in the workplace with these figures; civil servants will not be happy. No one should give this opportunity. Our effort is to correct this. We expect a solution on this matter; we do not want to be delayed. These figures are really ridiculous. This will tire the public, and we can never accept this. We do not even want to hear the phrase 'final offer.'
