U.S. President Donald Trump accused CNN and The New York Times of "lying" for reporting claims that the U.S. attack on Iran's nuclear facilities did not fully prevent Tehran's capacity to produce nuclear weapons.

US President Donald Trump reacted to reports in the US media claiming that the attack on Iran's nuclear facilities "did not fully affect" them, but only delayed their operations by a few months, in a post on his Truth Social account. The President stated, "The fake news channel CNN has teamed up with the failed New York Times to downplay one of the most successful military attacks in history."

"YOU ARE SPREADING FAKE NEWS"

Trump, who included statements that "the nuclear facility in Iran was completely destroyed," accused effective media outlets in the US of "spreading fake news," adding that both the NY Times and CNN are being ruthlessly criticized by the public.

TRUMP: NUCLEAR CAPACITY WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED

After the attacks carried out by the US B-2 bombers and submarines on three nuclear facilities in Iran, Trump had stated on various platforms that Tehran's nuclear capacity was "completely destroyed." However, some media outlets in the country claimed that this was not true, but that an impact could be created that would delay Iran's nuclear activities by a few months.

"WE SENT 12 BUNKER BUSTERS TO FORDO"

President Donald Trump's Special Representative Steve Witkoff detailed that the airstrikes on Iran "destroyed" Tehran's nuclear capacity, refuting claims in the US media. Witkoff stated in a live connection with Fox News, "(The nuclear facility in Iran) We sent 12 bunker buster bombs to Fordo. There is no doubt that it penetrated the protective cover and was destroyed."

"REPORTS CLAIMING THE TARGET WAS NOT REACHED ARE ABSURD"

Responding to the claims made by the US media, Witkoff said, "Leaking such information, regardless of what the information is and which side it comes from, is disgraceful. It is treason to the homeland, and therefore it should be investigated. Whoever did this, whoever is responsible, should be held accountable." Witkoff stated that he reads not only reports from the US but also "reports from other countries," emphasizing that news implying that the target was not reached is "completely absurd."

"THE TRANSFORMATION FACILITY IN ISFAHAN WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED"

The Special Representative stated that Iran's Isfahan nuclear facility is also a "transformation facility" necessary for metalizing the material at the end of enrichment, claiming, "As far as we know, this transformation facility in Isfahan, which is the only facility capable of doing this in Iran, was completely destroyed." Witkoff also expressed that they bombed the other two underground nuclear facilities previously targeted by Israel "repeatedly" to ensure they were completely destroyed, stating that he had "no doubt" about the outcome.
