President Erdoğan met with U.S. President Donald Trump during the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit in The Hague, Netherlands. In a statement from the Communications Directorate, it was noted that "President Erdoğan expressed that advancing cooperation in the defense industry would facilitate reaching the total trade volume target of 100 billion dollars."

THEY MET AFTER THE DINNER
Erdoğan and Trump came together after the dinner hosted by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and his wife in honor of the leaders and their spouses attending the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit. This was the first meeting between the two leaders during Trump's second presidential term.
"TURKEY AND THE U.S. BILATERAL RELATIONS WERE DISCUSSED"
The Presidency of Communications announced in a written statement regarding the meeting between Erdoğan and Trump in The Hague. The statement included the following remarks: "Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a meeting with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, during his visit to The Hague for the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit. In the meeting, Turkey-U.S. bilateral relations and regional and global issues were discussed. President Erdoğan stated that the two countries have great potential in various fields, especially in energy and investment, and that advancing cooperation in the defense industry would facilitate reaching the total trade volume target of 100 billion dollars."
ERDOĞAN EXPRESSED HIS SATISFACTION WITH THE CEASEFIRE
Our President expressed his satisfaction with the ceasefire achieved between Israel and Iran through the efforts of President Trump, wishing for it to be permanent, and emphasized the importance of close dialogue in ending the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza as soon as possible and in finding a peaceful solution to the war between Russia and Ukraine. The two leaders highlighted the importance of steps to be taken to strengthen NATO's deterrent power as leading Allies of the Alliance.

Meanwhile, President Erdoğan shook hands with U.S. President Donald Trump, who was on his left, during the family photo session held before the dinner.
