Response from the DEM Party to 'trustees': If you want a solution, İmralı is there.

Reactions continue to the appointment of trustees to the municipalities of Mardin Metropolitan, Batman, and Halfeti by the Ministry of Interior. Most recently, DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan pointed to terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, saying, "If you are looking for a solution, we are here. If you want a solution, İmralı is there."

DEM Party Co-Chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları, along with their delegation, participated in the protest against the trustee in front of the Halfeti Municipality in Şanlıurfa. Speaking here, Bakırhan described the appointment of trustees to the municipalities as a "coup."

In his speech, Bakırhan addressed the government, saying, "The Kurds do not trust you, the workers do not trust you. Because you do not have a real program, a real politics. You are the ones who resort to trustees when you are cornered, cling to the police, and use the judiciary as a club. We want to convey our very clear and concise demands to you: The Kurds want a solution. The Kurds want democracy. The Kurds want the will they elected to govern themselves. The Kurds do not want conflict. The Kurds do not want strife. Now you decide, this test is your test. If you are looking for a solution, we are here. If you want a solution, İmralı is there. If you want peace, abandon your trustee policy," he stated.
