Trabzonspor's head coach Fatih Tekke stated that there is no question of his resignation and that they will continue on their path despite all difficulties. In his statement, Tekke said, "There is no situation where I would resign from Trabzonspor."
Trabzonspor's head coach Fatih Tekke answered questions from the press before the Fenerbahçe match preparations at Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Facilities.
'TRABZONSPOR WILL NOT DEVIATE FROM ITS PATH'
Stating that Uğurcan Çakır's statements accurately reflect the process, Tekke said, "The same things apply to my 6-month experience. Uğurcan Çakır is an important asset for Trabzonspor, the best goalkeeper in Turkey. The player's desire and willingness to leave determined this transfer. Such things can happen in football. The desire to open a new page and set new goals, as stated by our former captain, facilitated the transfer. Trabzonspor is not a club that will deviate from its path due to any player's departure. We gave our best player, but I always told my players; we may fall, but we will rise again." he said.
'A SCENARIO LIKE THIS HAS EMERGED'
Stating that the first 4 weeks were very difficult, Tekke said, "I thought the second period would be easier, but unfortunately, not only Uğurcan Çakır but also the absence of Nwakaeme for 2-3 months, along with the injuries of Pina and Augusto, led to such a scenario. But we will continue on our path." he stated.
'RESIGNATION IS NOT AN OPTION'
Fatih Tekke stated that he came to the position at the request of the fans, saying, "We came during one of the most chaotic periods in recent years. Just as our fans asked us to come, our team, which works voluntarily 24/7, will leave if the fans do not want us. It could be tomorrow or in 10 days. I want to stay here for 10 years, but it doesn't seem very realistic. There is no situation where I would resign from Trabzonspor." he expressed.
'DISCUSSIONS WITH MUCI CONTINUE'
Evaluating the transfer agenda, Tekke said, "It is true that we are interested in Başakşehir goalkeeper Muhammet Şengezer and Ernest Muci. However, the financial conditions for the goalkeeper transfer have not developed as we wanted, so the process is on hold. Muci has just come onto our agenda. He is a talented player that I like. Discussions are ongoing, and I expect a positive outcome." he mentioned.
'PREFERING A LOANED GOALKEEPER IS MORE APPROPRIATE'
Speaking about who will guard the goal in the Fenerbahçe match, Tekke said, "Onuralp Çevikkan has started new training; he had an injury. We may continue with Ahmet Doğan Yıldırım and Erol. We hope Onuralp will be in good shape by the match. If we cannot make a goalkeeper transfer, we plan to spend this season with a loaned goalkeeper. We are not finding the conditions we want for a Turkish goalkeeper. In the case of a foreign goalkeeper transfer, serious amounts are being quoted, and there is also a quota issue." he stated.
'PINA IS UNLIKELY TO RECOVER IN TIME'
Stating that the likelihood of Pina recovering in time for the Fenerbahçe match is low, Tekke said, "We have few alternatives in this area. We have Arif and Mustafa at left-back. We can use Arif and Mustafa as we did in the Samsunspor match, or we can play with three at the back." he expressed.
'I WILL NOT LOSE MY AUTHENTICITY'
Emphasizing that he will not lose his authenticity, Tekke said, "The system wants you to lose your authenticity, but I cannot lose it; I explain everything clearly. Our new transfer Benjamin has a stress fracture he suffered three months ago. If he regains his performance, he will excite the Trabzonspor fans. I took this risk; I hope God does not let me down. We may have to wait 1-1.5 months for him to become healthy." he concluded his remarks.
