The claim that Canan Kaftancıoğlu is among the people who will accompany Gürsel Tekin, who has been appointed as the trustee of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, to the provincial building on Monday has caused a significant public reaction. Denying the allegations, Kaftancıoğlu stated in her announcement that she would not be going to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency with Tekin.
The Istanbul 45th Civil Court decided to suspend the president and management elected at the CHP's 38th Ordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress and to appoint a temporary management board to the Provincial Presidency. The court appointed Gürsel Tekin as the trustee of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency. Immediately after this development, which caused a great backlash, Tekin was expelled from the CHP. CHP members, who started a vigil at the provincial building, stated that they would not allow the trustee to enter the building under any circumstances.
REJECTION OF APPOINTMENT REQUEST
Tekin also announced that he would request an appointment from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Stating that he would reconcile the party and end the internal conflicts within the party, Tekin also revealed the date he would go to the provincial building. Tekin announced that he would go to the provincial building on Monday, September 8.
ANKARA IS TALKING ABOUT THIS CLAIM
Journalist Barış Yarkadaş claimed that former provincial presidents Berhan Şimşek, Ali Özcan, Cemal Canpolat, and Canan Kaftancıoğlu would accompany Gürsel Tekin, who will go to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency building on Monday.
KAFTANCIOĞLU IS NOT GOING TO THE PROVINCIAL BUILDING
While the claim, which was also reported by some media outlets, caused discussions in the public, a noteworthy statement came in the following minutes. According to the information obtained by Halk TV, Canan Kaftancıoğlu stated that she would not accompany Gürsel Tekin.
HASAN BABACAN WITHDREW FROM THE TRUSTEE COMMITTEE
On the other hand, another surprising development occurred today. Hasan Babacan, who was part of the team appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency by court decision, announced that he had withdrawn from the committee. Babacan, who stated that he made this decision after meeting with CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, said, "I will not be a part of the operation that appears to save the party but is actually aimed at taking over the party."
