Following the attacks by the USA and Israel on Iran, security measures in the border area have been heightened to the maximum level. After the Iranian authorities' decision to close the Urmia-Sero Customs Gate, commercial and civilian traffic at the Esendere Customs Gate in Hakkari has also been halted.
RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED
As part of the 40-day mourning period declared by the Iranian National Security High Council following the death of the Religious Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, black flags have been seen hung on the Iranian side of the border.
For security reasons, a special process is being implemented for citizens wishing to return to their countries on the border line that has been closed to general traffic. Accordingly, Turkish citizens in Iran are allowed to enter Turkey, while Iranian citizens in Turkey are permitted to cross back to their own country under controlled conditions.

The headman of Esendere, Murat Baran, stated that they are closely monitoring the process, saying, "After the restrictions imposed by the Iranian side on the border gate, crossings have come to a standstill.
