The discussions about clothing that began when a candidate in the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) in Antalya was unable to take the exam due to not being able to remove her earring have also been joined by Turkish folk music artist Sabahat Akkiraz. Akkiraz stated, "We will defend the freedom of our young girls to choose how to dress for the exam. Whether she wants to go with a headscarf or in shorts, it's her choice."
During the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) sessions held over the weekend, a student was unable to take the exam because she could not remove her earring. The incident, which took place in front of the Faculty of Education at Antalya Akdeniz University, sparked a debate on social media regarding the young girl's outfit.
