HAMANEY HAD REQUESTED SUPPORT
As Iran and Israel continued mutual attacks for 11 days, the U.S. joining the war on the night of June 22 further escalated tensions. The attacks carried out by U.S. B-2 bombers on Iran's Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan Nuclear Facilities have outraged the Tehran administration. Following the developments that occurred yesterday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled from Istanbul, where he was attending the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Foreign Ministers Meeting, to Russia. According to a report by the British news agency Reuters, based on a senior Iranian source, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a letter through Araghchi, who is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin today. In the letter, Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei requested Russia's support.
Iranian sources stated that they are not satisfied with Russia's support so far and have asked Moscow to provide more assistance to Tehran against Israel and the U.S. The sources did not provide details on the exact type of assistance requested by Iran's Supreme Leader.
