The claim that the funeral of martyr Pilot İbrahim Bolat was not allowed to be held at the cemevi was denied by the Disinformation Combat Center. In the statement, it was expressed that there was no request for a ceremony at the cemevi from the family.
Air Pilot Major İbrahim Bolat, who was martyred in the F-15 plane crash in Balıkesir, was laid to rest yesterday in İzmir. A funeral ceremony was held for Bolat at Hacı Mustafa Beşikçioğlu Mosque after the afternoon prayer. Following the ceremony, a claim that emerged on social media sparked public debate.
CLAIM THAT "IT WAS NOT ALLOWED TO BE HELD IN THE ALEVİ HOUSE"
Singer Sabahat Akkiraz claimed that martyr Bolat was Alevi and that permission was not granted for the funeral ceremony to be held in the Alevi house. The related post quickly spread on social media.
DMM ISSUED A STATEMENT
Following the claims, the Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) made a written statement. The statement said, "The claims that 'The funeral of Martyr Air Pilot Major İbrahim Bolat was not allowed to be held in the Alevi house and was conducted in the mosque' are not true."
"NO REQUEST WAS MADE"
DMM emphasized that martyr funerals are conducted in accordance with the families' requests, stating, "There was no request from the family of our martyred pilot for the funeral ceremony to be held in the Alevi house."
PREVIOUS CEREMONIES REMINDED
The statement also reminded that martyr ceremonies have previously been held in Alevi houses based on family requests. It was noted that content aimed at misleading the public is intentional disinformation, and legal action has been initiated regarding provocative posts.
