At a meeting held in the State Duma of Russia, it was concluded that satanism poses a threat to the national security of the country. Deputy Nikolai Burlyaev stated that the parliament has received numerous reports about "satanic sexual activity realms" in Moscow and other Russian cities.
According to Kommersant, Russian lawmakers are particularly concerned about the increasing number of satanic sex parties.
Andrei Kartapolov, Chairman of the Defense Committee of the State Duma, believes that Satanism is "a form of struggle against the country conducted by the united West." According to the panelists, Satanism manifests itself in a wide range of activities, from psychologists, nutritionists, tarot readers, magicians, and coaches to youth subcultures.

On April 8, the Duma's Committee for the Development of Civil Society held a roundtable on "The Fight Against the Spread of Satanism and Other Destructive Cults and Ideologies." Lawmaker Nikolai Burlyaev stated, "Today, the world scenario regarding the collapse of traditional spiritual and moral foundations is progressing uncontrollably."
REPORTS ON "SATANIC SEX PARTIES" ARE COMING IN
Burlyaev noted that numerous reports about "satanic sex parties" have been received by the parliament from Moscow and other Russian cities, stating, "Satanist-oriented films are being shown in cinemas, and hundreds of colorful books on Satanism are being sold at the book fair in Gostiny Dvor." Burlyaev also expressed that "the departure from traditional values and moral ideals could lead to the collapse of our state-civilization."
